Easy Viewing of Ancestors

Easy navigation of information about our ancestors is what makes Genealogy fun. Here are some tips for viewing information stored in this data base. decendents

1) Find the "Charts" icon near the top of this page and choose "Hourglass Chart" from the list of charts that will appear when you move your mouse over the Charts icon.

You should now see an hour glass chart with you at the center. An hour glass chart shows your descendants expanding to the left and your ancestors expanding to the right.

2) Find an arrow that points to the right on the right edge of your screen. Click on this arrow.

You should now see another generation of ancestors. If you do not see any arrow to the right it means that no more information is available on your ancestors down that branch of your family.

If you have children you will also see arrows to the left on the left side of the screen. Click on the arrows to follow your descendants.

3) An hourglass chart does not show the children of your ancestors. To see more information on one of your ancestors you will need to center the hourglass chart on that person. To do this hover over the chart icon in the box of the ancestor you would like see more information on. You should see a list of chart types. Select, "Hourglass".
